Frequently Asked Questions

What Ages Can Train At Greeley Taekwon-Do?

We start at age 12, and continue up to any age!

Taekwon-Do is world reknowned as an art for all ages to enjoy and benefit from.

From young children, to teenagers, to young adults, to middle-aged and elderly; anyone can usually benefit from a program of exercise and good diet!

I Want To Start Learning Taekwon-Do, But I Don't Want To Sign Any "Contracts". Does Greeley Taekwon-Do Require Contracts To Train There?

Absolutely NOT!

No contracts are required, and never will be.

Is Taekwon-Do Some Sort Of Cult, And How Does This Affect My Religious Beliefs?

No, Taekwon-Do is not any sort of cult. It is a Martial Art, but a special one. It includes philosophies that help students to live by THEIR belief system, religious or otherwise, in an upright and respectful manner.

The best way to think about it might be that while the techniques of Taekwon-Do would help a student to get out of trouble, the PHILOSOPHIES will help keep students out of trouble in the first place!

In this way, Taekwon-Do includes these philosophies to help the student in such a way as to strengthen their beliefs and convictions, and to help them develop the strength of character to act upon those beliefs appropriately.

I Am Afraid Of Being Discriminated Against Because I Am (Insert Reason).

Taekwon-Do as an art is based on tolerance and acceptance, and does not discriminate based on religious, racial, gender, sexual preference, or any other way.

General Choi, the Founding Father of Taekwon-Do wanted the Art taught without regards to Political Beliefs, Ideology, and/or Religious Beliefs. However, persons with criminal backgrounds or involvement are not welcome.

Taekwon-Do is supposed to be for anyone who wants to learn, is willing to work hard, is respectful of the instructor, and will not abuse their knowledge of Taekwon-Do.

I Don't Want My Child Learning To Become A Bully.

We agree! And that's another reason why it's important that students of all ages learn respect; not just of the art and the instructor, but for everyone. Our teaching methods focus on developing students emotionally & mentally, as well as physically. In this balanced approach to Martial Arts training, the student strives to become a Gentleman/Lady, and bullying is simply not tolerated.

And with proper training, and this is very important, students won't want or need to be bullies because they will learn better tools for interacting with others and dealing with their problems.
